The Backbone of Global Kitchens

For over two decades, UKA Foods has transformed the finest sun-ripened Egyptian tomatoes into a comprehensive range of pastes, and condiments trusted by buyers in more than 40 countries. Every batch begins in the fertile Nile Delta — where rich alluvial soil and year-round sunshine produce tomatoes with naturally high lycopene content and bold, deep-red color. Our vertically integrated supply chain, from contracted farms through four state-of-the-art processing facilities, ensures the consistent Brix levels, uniform viscosity, and microbiological safety that international retailers, foodservice operators, and industrial manufacturers demand. Whether you need a 70 g single-serve sachet for an emerging-market retail shelf or a 220 kg aseptic drum for a co-packing line in Europe, UKA Foods delivers — on spec, on time, and at scale.

Tomato Range
Consistent Brix

Our tomato paste is manufactured to a tightly controlled 28–30 % Brix concentration using hot-break extraction, which preserves natural pectin and delivers the thick, spoonable body that processors and consumers expect. Every production lot is verified with inline refractometers and confirmed by our in-house laboratory before release, so buyers receive the exact concentration specified on the technical data sheet — batch after batch, shipment after shipment.

Multi-Format

From 70 g easy-open tins and 135 g stand-up sachets to 400 g retail cans, 720 g glass jars, 800 g premium glass, and 2.2 kg foodservice tins — all the way up to 220 kg aseptic steel drums for industrial buyers — our tomato products ship in the exact format your market needs. Every packaging line is calibrated for hermetic sealing, and all primary packaging materials meet EU, FDA, and Gulf food-contact regulations.

Product Range

Three pillars of the tomato category

Each product is engineered from the same premium Egyptian tomato feedstock, processed under ISO 22000 and BRCGS protocols, and available in private-label, co-brand, or UKA house-brand configurations.

Packaging Formats

Right format for every market

Our tomato products ship in five primary packaging systems, each engineered for product integrity, shelf appeal, and logistical efficiency. Choosing the right format is a commercial decision as much as a technical one — it affects shelf velocity, supply chain costs, and consumer perception. Our packaging engineers work with each distribution partner to recommend the optimal format for their specific retail environment, climate conditions, and price-point positioning.

Glass

Glass

Premium glass jars deliver superior shelf presence for retail environments where visual merchandising drives purchase decisions. Our glass-packed tomato paste and ketchup lines target European, North American, and premium Middle Eastern channels where consumers associate glass with quality and purity. Each jar features a twist-off safety lid with a tamper-evident button, ensuring product integrity from our factory to the consumer's kitchen.

Sachet

Sachet

Flexible stand-up sachets and pillow packs are the fastest-growing format in African and Southeast Asian markets, where single-serve affordability drives volume. Our sachet lines run at high speed with nitrogen-flush technology to preserve colour and flavour without refrigeration. Available from 50 g to 135 g, sachets are ideal for general-trade distribution networks, open-market stalls, and humanitarian supply programs.

Tetra Pak

Tetra Pak

Aseptic Tetra Pak cartons combine long ambient shelf life with lightweight, stackable efficiency — reducing shipping costs by up to 30 % compared to glass. This format is especially popular for cooking sauces and passata destined for European retail shelves, where consumers value the convenience of reclosable cartons and the environmental story of renewable paperboard packaging.

Tin

Tin

Tinplate cans remain the global workhorse for tomato paste, offering unmatched barrier protection, long shelf life, and cost efficiency at scale. UKA Foods operates multiple high-speed canning lines that fill, seam, and retort tins from 70 g easy-open formats through 400 g standard cans to 2.2 kg institutional sizes. Every can undergoes double-seam inspection and vacuum testing before palletization.

Plastic

Plastic

PET and HDPE bottles serve the ketchup and squeeze-sauce segments, where consumer convenience and portion control are paramount. Our blow-mould and fill lines produce custom bottle shapes with flip-top and valve caps, enabling clean dispensing with minimal waste. All plastic packaging materials are BPA-free and comply with EU Regulation 10/2011 on plastic food-contact materials.

Size Range

From single serve to industrial drum

Seven core size tiers cover every channel — from impulse-buy sachets in neighborhood shops to 220 kg aseptic drums feeding continental-scale co-packing operations. Each size is optimized for its target use case: weight fill accuracy is maintained within ±1 % of declared net weight, and all packaging meets the legal metrology requirements of major importing regions including the EU, GCC, and ECOWAS.

Technical Excellence

Science behind the flavour

Every tomato product leaving our facilities is backed by rigorous process controls and laboratory verification at every critical control point. Our quality assurance infrastructure includes an on-site analytical laboratory staffed by food scientists and microbiologists who test raw materials upon arrival, monitor in-process parameters in real time, and perform final product verification before any lot is cleared for shipment.

Brix Control

Our evaporation lines operate within a tightly calibrated 26–30 % Brix concentration window, verified by inline digital refractometers and confirmed by laboratory bench testing on every production lot. We use hot-break processing at 85–95 °C to deactivate pectinase enzymes, preserving natural pectin and delivering a viscous, full-bodied paste.

For clients requiring cold-break profiles — favoured in premium passata applications for their fresher flavour — we operate a dedicated cold-break line at 65–70 °C with separate storage and filling infrastructure. Both processes are fully documented in our technical data sheets, including typical viscosity curves and Bostwick readings.

pH Management

All tomato products are manufactured within a pH range of 4.0–4.4, placing them firmly in the high-acid food category that ensures natural microbiological safety without reliance on chemical preservatives.

Our quality team monitors pH at raw-material intake, post-concentration, and pre-filling stages, with automatic diversion triggered if any reading exceeds the specified limit. This three-point verification guarantees shelf stability for the full stated shelf life of 18–24 months under ambient conditions, and every measurement is recorded in our batch-level traceability system for audit purposes.

Color Consistency

The deep red colour of our tomato products is a direct result of lycopene preservation — achieved through rapid processing, minimal heat exposure during non-critical stages, and nitrogen-blanketed storage that prevents oxidative degradation.

We measure colour using the USDA tomato colour index and Lovibond tintometer on every batch, maintaining scores that consistently meet or exceed the Grade A classification required by premium retail buyers in Europe, the Gulf, and North America. Colour data is included on every Certificate of Analysis.

Quality Compliance

Our tomato processing facilities operate under ISO 22000 food safety management, HACCP Codex Alimentarius principles, and BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety — all verified through annual third-party audits by internationally accredited certification bodies.

Full batch traceability extends from the contracted farm plot through raw-material intake, every processing stage, and final dispatch, enabling any product to be traced back to its source within two hours. Certificates of Analysis, Certificates of Origin, and Health Certificates accompany every shipment as standard, with additional documentation prepared on request for any destination market.

Our Process

From farm to filled container

Understanding our production process helps buyers appreciate the controls and investment behind every unit of UKA Foods tomato product. Each stage is designed for speed, hygiene, and traceability.

Sourcing & Intake

Our tomatoes are sourced from contracted farms across Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta, where fertile alluvial soils and long growing seasons produce fruit with exceptionally high solids content. Raw material arrives at our factories within hours of harvest and passes through a multi-point quality gate — checking Brix, colour, absence of mould, and foreign-body contamination — before entering the washing and sorting lines.

Processing & Concentration

Sorted tomatoes are chopped, heated using our hot-break or cold-break system depending on the target product, and then passed through finisher screens to remove seeds and skin. The resulting juice enters multi-effect evaporators that concentrate it to the specified Brix level under vacuum conditions that preserve colour and nutritional value. The entire process from intake to concentrated paste takes less than six hours, minimizing enzymatic degradation and ensuring peak freshness in the finished product.

Filling & Dispatch

Concentrated paste or finished sauce is transferred to our filling halls, where automated lines fill, seal, label, and palletize at speeds calibrated to each packaging format. Retort sterilization follows for canned products, while aseptic filling is used for drums, Tetra Pak cartons, and selected sachet lines. Finished goods are moved to our climate-controlled warehouses and dispatched to Alexandria or Damietta ports, typically within 48 hours of a confirmed shipping booking.
